Counselling For Addiction Issues. Individual, Family and Group.
RedChair’s experienced and specialist counsellors provide expert support and positive intervention, delivered with professional warmth, for all issues surrounding addiction – however it may present itself in a person’s life. We have experience with all forms of addiction, including drugs, prescribed and illegal, alcohol abuse and alcoholism, gambling, Internet addiction, pornography and sex addiction.
We have dealt successfully with a diverse range of issues surrounding food and body image such as over-eating, anorexia, bulimia, obsessive dieting and exercising. Shopping and compulsive spending, mounting debt and stealing are also within our scope as are a multitude of obsessive and compulsive behaviours, including workaholics.
Our counsellors have experience in a wide variety of skills and disciplines: Rogerian, person-centred, cognitive behaviour therapy, rational emotive therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA) and more. RedChair’s network stretches the length and breadth of the UK so we are able to react quickly and respond effectively with a positive Call To Action ethos. We offer one-to-one support based on a back catalogue of experience, understanding and many successes.
Working with the Family
Be aware – this is a family illness. Family members may be decimated as a result of a loved one’s behaviour and actions – broken promises, lies, violence – the spiral of fear and destruction taking over their lives, hearts and minds. We liaise with and counsel all family members, collectively and/or individually, helping them to find a way forward, with love and dignity, for themselves and the family member at the heart of the whole process. Most importantly, they can feel supported and guided before, during and after an intervention.
Following Up
We provide regular aftercare group therapy sessions. These personal development groups are facilitated by an experienced family counsellor. Group therapy develops the more subtle life skills that are often badly wounded after a period of addiction or mental illness
